The Anglo-American Group of Provence consists of about 400 families of English-speaking nationals living in or around the Bouches du Rhône, Vauclause, and Var area. Whether in southern France through work, marriage, or simply an appreciation of the Mediterranean way of life, our members have in common the desire to make connections and share experiences with other English speakers. We welcome new members throughout the year.
Founded in 1971 as a non-profit social organisation, we offer to our members numerous opportunities to find friendship, conviviality, and information relevant to life in France. We also do our best to support our members with any difficulties (legal, medical, or otherwise) which they may encounter while living in the area.
The group has three broad aims:
Membership in the AAGP includes a subscription to our monthly magazine. Packed with 32 pages of information on the Group’s events, local activities, cultural traditions, places to visit, members’ suggestions and small ads, this publication is an integral part of the Group’s communication.
We offer a wide variety of activities appealing to people of all ages and interests, thanks to member input and involvement. Some of these include:
Our website contains a lot of useful information for members, including our monthly calendar, a description of events, contact info, restaurant reviews, etc.
Joining the AAGP gives you access to the ‘One List’, a group email service where the messages you post will be sent to the mailboxes of all the members registered for it. Need specific advice? Want to buy or sell something? This lets you communicate with expats across Provence easily and effectively.
If you would like to join the AAGP, visit the membership page for eligibility details and an application form.
